Magdalena, Laguna, May 27, 2019 – As part of Rocket Stations give back program, ‘Rocket Station CARES’, we organized a school outreach program called #Launch Ed. The event took place at the Ricardo A. Pronove Elementary School (RPES) in Magdalena.

The #LaunchEd event was in line with the Philippines Department Of Education project called ‘Brigada Eskwela’ also known as the National Schools Maintenance Week. Brigada Eskwela is a nationwide initiative that aims to unite and mobilize thousands of parents, alumni, civic groups, local businesses, non-government organizations, teachers, students, and individuals who volunteer their time and skills to do repairs, maintenance work, and clean-up of public elementary and secondary schools.

We at Rocket Station contributed by providing essential school supplies to the students of RPES to start off their school year well prepared. Rocket Station’s Director of operations, Romil Hombrebueno, stated that the sentiment of Rocket Station’s mission to enhance lives through better business applied not only to team members and clients but to those in the community as well. With that said, our Rocket Stations team members traveled from “all parts of the Philippines just to be with the kids” and were encouraged to invite their families and friends to help out and join in on the fun at the event as well.

In the words of the school’s principal Bonaficio Togado to the Rocket Station team regarding #Launch Ed, “This is very big for the school especially for the students. To all of you, we give our thanks, and may the Lord give you abundant blessings in return”. While Analisa Macahasa, a teacher at RPES had this to say, “Thank you very much, Rocket Station! This is a big help for our students this coming school year”.

The event Romil explained is the first activity that they’ve done under Rocket Station CARES, and intend to do more in the future. It ended as a huge success with students and teachers expressing gratitude to the Rocket Station team. It was so successful that teachers expressed their wishes that for the upcoming years for Brigada Eskwela that the Rocket Station team would come back again to host more #Launched events. I know we would love that too!
