Financial Report Bookkeeper

Manage the monthly close and financial reporting for a portfolio of community accounts, ensuring accurate, GAAP-compliant financial statements. This role combines technical bookkeeping, timely monthly reporting, and clear communication with Community Managers and internal stakeholders.

Job Description – Financial Report Bookkeeper

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Financial Reporting Bookkeeper, you’ll own the monthly close process for a portfolio of community accounts, translating daily financial activity into accurate, GAAP-compliant statements that Community Managers and leadership rely on to make decisions.

The role combines strong technical bookkeeping (debits, credits, GL coding, and accruals), a disciplined monthly reporting cadence, and clear, proactive communication with Community Managers and internal stakeholders. If you’re detail-oriented, comfortable working against a fixed monthly schedule, and confident explaining financial statements to non-accounting audiences, you’ll thrive in this role.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

— Debits and credits (financial entries)

  • Understand the fundamentals of debits and credits (the balance each account holds)

— Prepare and enter general ledger journal entries, ensuring proper coding (GL Codes) and that appropriate accruals are in place

— Verify entries posted by corresponding departments

— Ensure all entries are done in accordance with GAAP and AICPA standards (compliance check)

— Prepare a minimum of 70-75 financial statements monthly per time-mandated schedules

— Key/approve annual budgets prepared by Community Managers

  • Review approved/entered data (not a priority at the moment)

— Collaborate and communicate with Community Managers regarding financial statements

  • Review financial statements and communicate (via phone/email/SMS) with the Community Manager as needed (for gaps/disputes) – or to the Dedicated Service Coordinator (DSC), who will then coordinate directly with the bookkeepers

— Perform other tasks at the direction of leadership

— Other duties as assigned (ad hoc – admin/accounting tasks)

You’ll Also Be Expected To:

  • Adhere to internal controls, Core Values, Company Promises, and Service Level Commitments
  • Adhere to policies and procedures as they relate to financial activities

  • MS Teams
  • MS Word
