March 26, 2022 – Nestled in the friendly Municipality of La Union, Thunderbird Resort has become a temporary home and a legion of an overwhelming amount of talented people inside and outside of Rocket Station. On March 26, 2022, the organization opened its doors to welcoming leaders and aspiring leaders to a Leadership Summit. This event titled “Headstart” aims to bring the brightest leaders from all over the Philippines to promote the growth and success of every working Filipino. Aside from Rocket Station’s goal to create a pool of candidates for leadership role needs, the company also takes this opportunity to gather and engage its team members.

The event started, as with all Leadership Summits, with a great introduction of special speakers which includes Rocket Station’s successful leaders. Romil Hombrebueno who has been in the corporate world for over 18 years shared his understanding of leadership, “As leaders what we really get to have is not power. What we get whenever we have the responsibility as leaders is the perception of power.” This has impacted a lot of attendees as it shows the true responsibility of being a good and effective leader. Other speakers at the event, Nina Sta. Ana (Head of Operations) and Raymond Lorenzana (Head of Training Development), both shared great knowledge about Everyday Leadership, and Operational Resilience respectively. As the day continued, aspiring leaders received an abundance of knowledge that would help them better serve their purpose.

Joanne Villablanca, a fitness enthusiast and social media influencer, shared some of the best exercises while working and tips on how better to take care of one’s physical and mental health. This proved the priority of Rocket Station as an organization. It isn’t only to produce good leaders but to always put people first, to prioritize people’s growth and health. Another goal of the event is to teach attendees how to provide exceptional service and exceed expectations as leaders. It was discussed that leaders and the rest of the organization’s workforce should know when to work hard, play hard, and rest. Of course, this is the Rocket Station way!

Right after hearing helpful tips from Joanne, a notable speaker Sgt. Lloyd Luna, dubbed the Pambansang Inspirasyon, a best-selling author and motivational speaker filled the room with laughter as he introduced the crowd to three different reasons for transformation: Natural, incidental, and intentional. Adding to all the knowledge grasped from his speech, he instilled the idea that the mistake that breaks our hearts is the same mistake that makes us stronger.

All speakers during the Leadership Summit shared significant knowledge that made the delegates more aware of how to better become successful leaders. This event bred a firm understanding of what a leadership role is. Headstart is geared not only to produce good leaders but also to promote a healthy working lifestyle. The event’s success moved everyone to make an oath, to themselves, that the next celebration would be a culmination of the continued progress. Growth as an Individual, growth as a major key player in an organization, growth as part of the community, and more importantly as part of a family.
