Barangay, Quezon City, 4 May 2020 – In an aim to give back to the community and help those in need during the COVID-19 pandemic, Rocket Station Cares partnered with The Happyness Project to donate food relief packs. The Happyness Project is a Non Profit organization based in the Philippines that serves food relief packs to those in need all over the country. In 2019, their philanthropic efforts served over 1,500 meals to the less fortunate and shared over 350 volunteer hours.

The target was focused on the Barangay of Bagong Silang district in Quezon City. Over 300 food relief packs were distributed, approximately 20% of the food packs distributed in the whole of 2019 by The Happyness Project. This project was targeted at daily wage earners who were negatively affected by the lockdown and were unable to earn incomes. Each food pack cost about 200 pesos.

Due to the nature of Rocket Station’s virtual business, our company was more than capable of successfully operating throughout the lockdown and was not as negatively impacted as the daily wage earners we strived to help today. The number of people unable to earn incomes is increasing as businesses struggle to stay afloat. It looks like it will still be a while before this pandemic is over and the world returns to normal. At this critical juncture, it is important to do what we can to alleviate the growing pain that still exists. This is only the beginning of Rocket Station’s efforts to come together as a community to help one another.

With that said, the joint partnership to serve the community by Rocket Station’s Cares program and The Happyness Project was a huge hit. In the words of The Happyness Project team, “As we continue this fight against COVID-19, we will need more brilliant allies in the private sector to bolster our endeavors. We love you to the moon and back ROCKET STATION!”.
